Customer Question

I just adopted a 4 yr old shih tzu. She got spayed before I picked her up. She keeps trembling on and off, licking her lips, and has had a really hard time falling asleep keeps getting up and trying to find a comfy way of sleeping by sticking her legs out or sleeping on her side. I've had my cats spayed and they didn't really show too many signs of discomfort after surgery...should I be worried about the shih tzu?

Hello & welcome, I am Dr. B, a licensed veterinarian and I would like to help you with your wee one today.
How many days ago was her surgery?
Was she sent home with any medication?
How is her appetite and thirst?
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
Her surgery was on Thursday I believe. Yesterday morning about an hour after I gave her the pain killer medication the ACC people told me to give her, she calmed down a lot. She's drinking a lot of water and she seems to slowly be getting her appetite back. They gave me 3 pills so hopefully after tomorrow she's okay...
Thank you for your really quick response :)

She seems scared of grass though...since she's a city pup is this possible or could she have allergies? She refuses to walk on grass. She just walks on the sidewalk, patio, or road.

You are very welcome,
Do you see her showing any signs of irritation if she comes in contact with grass?
Any licking or chewing of her paws?
Any redness or irritation visible on the skin between her toes?
