My shih tzu an hour has been trying to clear his

Hi my shih tzu for half an hour has been trying to clear his throat, he looks very uncomfortable, I have given him water but he doesn't want it, he is 18 months

yes a couple of hours ago he had a small rawhide treat but nothing stuck in his throat

no not like the videos, he looks like he is constantly trying to clear his throat, I live in Rome, Italy and I cannot get any vet at this time of night which is a nightmare

Has he had those rawhide chews in the past?

How long after he finished the chew did this start?

I'm happy to hear that he's feeling better.

I suspect that he scratched his throat a little with that last treat. It's pretty common and as long a the dog isn't turning blue or having any problems breathing, it generally passes with no problems.
