Customer Question

Our four year old Bulldog has been amazingly healthy until five days ago. She had vomiting and diarrhea on the first day followed with 4 days of very watery stools. The diarrhea is finally gone but she doesn't want us to clean under her tail and still walks a bit hunched over and sits frequently tucking her butt under her. She runs and seems almost back to normal when we are walking her but still lethargic when she gets back home. Should we be concerned?

Hello & welcome, I am Dr. B, a licensed veterinarian and I would like to help you with your wee one today. Are you seeing any redness, swelling, inflammation or sores at the rectum? Are her gums nice and pink (not white/pale)? Moist or sticky? If you press on her belly, does she have any tensing, tenderness, discomfort, or pain?Could she have eaten anything she should not have (ie bones, stones, socks, toys, plants, chemicals, human meds, etc)?
