Hello, My name is XXXXX XXXXX I have been a veterinary nurse for 26 years.Thank you for allowing me to assist you today.

I just have a few questions so I can better advise you.

Do you know when he may have eaten the eye?

How much does Charlie weigh?

After your reply please give me a few minutes to type up your answer.

He ate the eye about 3 1/2 hours ago and he weighs 20 pounds.

Thank you

I apologize for the wait I had to step away from the computer.

This should pass with no problems however as a precaution What you want to do is bulk up the diet for the next few days.

Tonight I would give 2 teaspoons of Metamucil on either mashed potatoes, cottage cheese or even some yogurt this will help gel around the eye and help to push it through. If you do not have Metamucil you can give a piece of whole grain bread.

The for the next 3 days give one of the following

* 1 teaspoon metamucil twice daily
*1 Piece of grain bread daily
* 2 teaspoons of canned pumpkin.

I would also feed 3-4 small meals per day to help keep the gut moving.

You want to watch for vomiting after eating, refusing to eat , pain in the abdomen or trouble passing stool should any of these things develop in the next 3-5 days you will want to have him seen by a vet for some x rays.

I hope this helps and this passes with no problems. I am on every day if you see anything over the next few days that has you worried please do not hesitate to come back to this thread and I will be happy to help.
