My 18 lb Chihuahua/jack russel chewed up 2 Raid ant baits. ... what should I look for and what should I do?
Hi, I am Dr. Jeff. I will try to help you. Please feel free to follow up if any more information is needed. Ant bait are typically not a toxic issue, so there should be no concern there. However, the plastic portion of the trap can lead to GI obstruction or irritation if consumed. So, if she did not eat the trap, there is probably not much to worry about at this time. If consumed, watch for vomiting, diarrhea, lack of appetite, abdominal pain, etc. If these signs occurs, a vet visit is probably worthwhile. There is no home remedy I can offer at this time other than offering a little bread if part of the plastic were consumed. This may help move things through. I hope this helps and gives you direction.
