Hello, I'm Dr Gary. I've been practicing veterinary medicine since 2007. I look forward to helping with your questions/ concerns.

It sounds like she is acting painful. In a young boxer, this may be joint pain from growing, neck pain from meningitis or potentially an anal gland impaction.

A good exam should sort out the area of pain. I would make sure the vet does a rectal to check her anal glands given her awkward sitting. They should also check to make sure she doesn't have vaginitis, as vaginal infections are common in young female dogs.

The treatment will depend on what is found. It may be pain meds, steroids (if meningitis), antibiotics (if infectious) or anti-anxiety meds.

If you want to try something now, you can give a dose of Benadryl and see if it helps, Benadryl is over the counter and very safe in dogs. The dose is 1-2 mg per lb body weight every 6-8 hours as needed.

I hope this helps, let me know if you have any other questions.
