Hello and thank you for asking your question. My name isXXXXX will try to help.
I do not believe that one buttercup will be an issue.
If he ingested a lot, or 1/2 a cup or more, then he could have clinical signs of toxicosis.
Signs of toxicity are vomiting, diarrhea, depression, anorexia, hyper salivation and wobbly gait.
While I do not believe you will see any signs at all, if you do see any of the symptoms above, he should see a vet.
Do not worry though, I believe he will be just fine.
You can give him a meal to help absorb the buttercup.
Buttercups are very bitter so hopefully he will not eat any more.
