Dr. Brian :

Hi and welcome to Just Answer. I am a licensed veterinarian and will do my best to help you.

Dr. Brian :

Is the hair sort of sticking up in circular patches?

Customer: Yes
Dr. Brian :

Is it in multiple areas and about the size of a quarter for each one?

Customer: The bumps are all over except in the face neck area. More extreme towards his hind part. They are not as leg. As a whatever even smaller than a penny.
Customer: Sorry. Not as large as a quarter.
Dr. Brian :

How much does your dog weigh?

Customer: Guessing...60 to 70 lbs.
Dr. Brian :

These sound like hives, an allergic reaction to something, frequently a food item. Here is further reading on hives: I would give benadryl.

Dr. Brian :

Benadryl is dosed at about 1 mg per pound 3 times daily. See this article on this product:

Customer: Yes, that's how it appears but in his hair. Thank you. I will give him Benadryl
Dr. Brian :

Best wishes.

Customer: Thank you.
