Hi Cherinsc,
I was not able to find anything indicating that hickory nuts are toxic to dogs. If you want to contact the ASPCA poison control hotline(NNN) NNN-NNNN, they have the biggest database in the world on every known effect of anything a dog might eat, toxic or otherwise. However, they do charge $60 for the information. I searched a veterinary database, and could find nothing that indicates that eating the nuts could be a problem. Hope this helps, Rebecca
