Why does my dog appear to be squinting at times

Resolved Question:

He seems to narrow his eyes like a squint, almost like he is tired(?) but not all the time. It does not seem to matter whether day or night. He is a 5 year old yellow lab.

Hi Coral,

Dogs and people will squint if it is too bright, or if their eyes bother them. There are several things that can be 'bothering' eyes, such as glaucoma, internal eye infections, and dry eyes to mention just a few.

Needless to say, he is probably uncomfortable, and may have something that is potentially damaging to his vision. To be on the safe side (and stay on his best side) you should have his vet check him out.

I hope this helps, and best wishes.
