Customer Question

how long does distemper last, where the dog will no longer die from it

Distemper is a difficult disease to deal with as dogs can have lifetime issues if they survive.
The disease has two phases one where the respiratory and intestinal tracts are impacted and another where the dog's neurological function is impacted.
You can read about this disease here
Which lists 8-9 days of the first phase being critical and then in 1-3 weeks the second phase may begin. About 50% of dogs that recover from the first part of the illness end up with the neurological part of the disease.
Good luck with your puppy!
