If the dog does not have any rabies vaccination the virus can potentially be picked up through contact with a dead animal but the virus reportedly only lives a short time without a living host.
If your dog has had its rabies vaccines then the dog should be immune though you may want to have your vet booster the shot just in case.
A dog can get bacterial infections, digestive upset, and intestinal parasites from consuming a dead animal.
