Your dog's stool can be green for a few different reasons. It's possible the dog ate something that contained food coloring it could cause it to turn green. One example would be green dog treats.   However, a green stool can indicate that food is passing through the intestinal tract too fast. Possible causes could be gall bladder trouble, irritable bowel syndrome, a parasitic problem such as giardia, yellowish green could indicate herpes virus, and other problems. So if his stool continues to be greenish in color you should have him checked by your vet. I hope this information is helpful to you.
