Ant bites are painful and particularly if this was a fire ant then the spot will need treatment.
You can try using a paste of baking soda and water on the spot for pain relief if the spot is still sore and then use neosporin or triple antibiotic ointment on it to help it heal.
If the dog has multiple fire ant bites a rinse in water with baking soda in it that gets down to the skin and some plain Benadryl at a dose of 1mg per pound of dog may help.
The bites are not fatal unless the dog is allergic to them or in the case of fire ants if too many bite the dog.
Hope this helps you!
