How long have they been tied together?

Reply to Nancy Holmes's Post: they were stuck together for about 25 min. cold water didn't work, nor did a bit of ice - just time. concerned because of how small the female is - so guess it's off to the vet to get her fixed

Ice ouch brrr!
Normally ties can last anywhere from 5 to 30 minutes.
If you don't spay her then you should plan on a pregnancy. If she is a lot smaller there is potential for a need for a c-section to help her deliver pups.
You may want to ask the vet about a 'morning after' shot to keep her from getting pregnant. They don't always work and there may also be danger of uterine infection. But you can discuss this if you want to try it with your vet and see what they think.
Good luck with her!
