Customer Question

my cat started walking with an unsteady gait yesterday. She fell into the wall rounding the corner of a wall, and this morning she was cleaning herself sitting with her leg up and when she put her leg down she fell over.
JA: I'm sorry to hear that. Did your cat have a fall?
Customer: I don't think so, but I can't be positive. She goes from bed to floor to dresser (for food)
JA: What is the cat's name and age?
Customer: Cleo and I think she's around 9-10 years of age.
JA: Is there anything else the Veterinarian should be aware of about Cleo?
Customer: She's been vomiting up a lot recently (moreso than usual for her anyway)

I am sorry Cleo is not feeling well.

She may have an ear infection that is interfering with her equilibrium.

You can give her 13.5 mg of dramamine to relieve the symptoms:

She may be nauseated

Give her one quarter of a ten mg pepcid a/c (famotidine). I usually add it to a tablespoon of baby food chicken with no onion or garlic Or canned cat food.Every 12 hours.

Remove all dry food and any wet with chunks, pieces or shreds.

Feed only smooth pate canned food or baby food.

If she gets dehydrated give her tuna water drained from the can.

Please let me know how she is doing .

Please be so kind as to rate my answer with positive feedback; that is the only way I receive credit for my assistance. Thank you very much!
