Customer Question

Customer: My cat is still very active - plays, jumps the 3ft from the bed to her chair. Sits with me and cuddles; however, she isn't eating. Yesterday, she would lick up the juices in wet cat food, but last night and this morning, she isn't even doing that. She's thin, but she has been thin most of her life. She had a rough start as a kitten with GI problems and ringworms. She's a rescue and is now 12 years old.
JA: I'm sorry to hear that. Strange behavior is often perplexing. I'm sure the Veterinarian can help you. What is the kitten's name?
Customer: Shea
JA: Is there anything else important you think the Veterinarian should know about Shea?
Customer: She has been spayed and declawed. She hasn't seen a vet in several years.
JA: I'm sending you to a secure page on JustAnswer so you can place the $5 fully refundable deposit now. While you're filling out that form, I'll tell the Veterinarian about your situation and connect you two.

I am so sorry Shea is not feeling well.

Drain the water from a can of tuna into a bowl. Offer it to her to lap up. If she does, offer some tuna.

Go out and get a few jars of chicken or turkey baby food with no onion or garlic. Warm it to bring out the aroma and see if she will eat some. Most cats LOVE it.

When you feed canned food warm it a bit. Feed smooth, pate food only with no pieces, shreds or chucks.

Tomorrow get a few cans of A/D cat food from a vet so we can put back some weight.

Please let me know if Shea eats and how she is doing.

Please be so kind as to rate my answer with positive feedback; that is the only way I receive credit for my assistance. Thank you very much!

Thank you for the suggestions. I will try them and let you know. I'll start with the canned tuna juice and then move to the baby food.
