Customer Question

My cat is staggering. She was fine last night. No apparent injury. Not in any pain. Like she is drunk: She starts to walk and goes crooked until she staggers sideways in to something.

I am so sorry Squeeker is having trouble.

If she has not ingested a toxin like antifreeze, pans, medication etc, she may have an ear infection causing a vestibular disorder:

This ailment upsets the equilibrium and causes nausea and disorientation.

You can give her 12.5 mg of dramamine to relieve the symptoms.

Other possibilities are stroke, high blood pressure, fever (normal is 100 - 102.5) or sensory issues.

She should be seen by her vet tomorrow.

In the meantime keep her in a darkened, quiet room so she can relax.

Feed her either canned food, tuna, baby food (no onion or garlic) or boiled chicken.

Please let me know how she is doing.

Please be so kind as to rate my answer positively as that is the only way I receive credit for my assistance. Thank you very much!
