Hi Cara,

I am sorry but I do not believe I see your complete question.

Can you please repeat it for me?

this is an info request for which you are NOT charged

Customer: replied 2 years ago.
Routine blood work revealed lipase at 627 U/L (range is 10-200). No lethargy, no vomiting. No sx. Was at vet Aug 24/15 re left leg limp which has improved. Vet said do ultrasound although it could be abscess or benign. Don't know what to do.
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
She also needs another teeth cleaning (general anesthetic) and possibly 2 extractions. She's had same vet all her life. She's very sensitive and dislikes going to vet. I'm going to do her Cartophen injections re her OA (DDD).
Expert:  Terri replied 2 years ago.

Lipase is part of a pancreatic enzyme test called fPLI to diagnose pancreatitis.

However, there are other reasons this enzyme might be elevated. They include, pain, fear, dehydration and infection.

If she has an abscess that could be the cause.

When will you do the injections?

Expert:  Terri replied 2 years ago.

Is she taking dasiquin or other glucosimine supplement?

Customer: replied 2 years ago.
No, she has had just one Cartophen injection, same day as blood draw.
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
I'll be doing home injections starting today ( Cartophen for her leg). She was very afraid (drooling) at vet. Was given subcutaneous fluids too.
Expert:  Terri replied 2 years ago.

OK, so she needs 3 more one a week for 4 weeks.

I would wait for that to be completed before doing the dental work.

I would also start her on a glucosimine supplement like dasiquin.

I am glad YOU are doing the injections at home. It will save her a lot of stress.

It is best to feed arthritic cats canned food because the oil in the food lubricates their joints.

Massage to bring fresh blood to the surface is also beneficial.

Make warm packs by adding raw rice to a clean sock, tie the top, then warm in the microwave. Apply to affected areas..

Please let me know how she is doing. Just press reply and I will be here for you.

OK thanks. But would you go ahead with a $440 ultrasound in this case? The vet said they have ultrasound folks in week of Sept 18th.
Expert:  Terri replied 2 years ago.

I would complete the injection therapy first and then go from there

Thank you!

I will still be here for you at no additional charge.

I asked about the charge then was redirected to a lawyer who was going to charge more to answer what my account covers. That's pretty bad. That's customer service.
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
I have no problem with the $30. I just don't want you guys to keep charging me. I don't understand why I can't get an answer to a simple question.
Expert:  Terri replied 2 years ago.

That makes no sense. You asked a veterinary question that has nothing to do with a lawyer.

All you can be charged is the amount you authorized on THIS particular question.

Plus you will not be charged anything unless you actually rate an answer.

Did you ask any other questions besides this one?
