This is probably a ridiculous question but I will be adopting

Customer Question

This is probably a ridiculous question but I will be adopting brother and sister kittens, 8 weeks old, I've had pups from the same litter but they were the same sex. I am having them neutered and spayed, but what age would they be sexually attracted to each other? Thanks, Deb

Hi, I'm a licensed veterinarian and I'll be happy to help. This is not a ridiculous question at all! Sexual maturity is reached at around 6 months of age, and so at that time mating may occur, regardless of whether they are littermates. As long as they are spayed/neutered before that time, there is very little likelihood of pregnancy occurring.
