I found a kitten in my yard 3 days ago. Eyes and nose all gooeyyed

I found a kitten in my yard 3 days ago. Eyes and nose all gooeyyed up from a cold/ infection.
I took him to the vet and took him home afterwards. He is doing much better already but he
doesn't eat or drink or poop/pee. I am giving him antibiotics and ointments as prescribed.
I also use a siringe to get some water into him. He doesn't seem apathic, only groggy/tired.
The vet says he is about 12 weeks old but when I held him he seemed to seek something to
Suckle on at my neck. He is not at least interested in solid/wet food at all. Should I get kitten milk?

Hi Tate,

Bless you for saving the kitten!

Please tell me more so I can help Dante.

What and when did he eat last?
when did he pee and poop last?

how many doses of antibiotics has he had?

what color are his gums?

After your reply please give me a few minutes to type detailed answer.

I haven't seen him eat anything. The vet took a poop sample and cat HIV was negative. Because of my work schedule I administer his antibiotics every 12 hrs. He had 4 so far. His gums look a healthy pink. He has not peed or pooped while in my care. I found him Tuesday afternoon (6/25)

Dear Tate,

Thanks so much for your helpful reply.

Dante can go without pooping for two days but he had to pee somewhere.

Look around, perhaps he went under a bed.

A 12 week old kitten needs to eat food, not drink formula.

However, if a cat cannot smell the food, he will not eat.

rub a drop of pancake syrup into his gums to raise his blood sugar.

Get a can of tuna in water and smelly canned cat food.

Drain the tuna water into a bowl and see if he will lick it up for hydration.

Offer the tuna, canned cat food, chicken, fish, etc.

heat food because the smell of cooking food awakens the appetite sensors in the brain.

get cat sure and nuitrical from any pet store.

you can give droppers of plain pedialye for hydration.

Please let me know how Dante is doing.

Best wishes for him,
