Is there a cat scratching post that will reduce their nails

Resolved Question:

Is there a cat scratching post that will reduce their nails without clipping? My 12 year old tabby attached the vet yesterday when she tried to clip her claws, and had to be given an anesthetic. She gave her Ketaset & Occepeone. I doubt if she will clip them again. Do you have suggestions? ( I medicated her with 10 mgm of Paroxetine.)

Hi there,

Oh my she is not going to put up with claw clipping, I see.

Yes, there are two types of posts which will file her nails

ONE IS CARDBOARD BUT leaves a messy residue when she scratches.

The other (which I have as I own 5 clawed kitties) has sisal rope posts. They LOV E it and I have never had to trim their nails.

Any pet supply will have them. I got mine on ebay.

Sincerest best wishes,
