cat: mouth..When I try to give him fluid, he growls and hisses.

Resolved Question:

My outside cat has water/fluid dripping from the mouth. When I try to give him fluid, he growls and hisses. He's usually very passive.... what could be wrong?

A few of the more common causes of drooling (fluid from mouth) are having tastes something distasteful (toads, some chemicals, medications), a foreign object such as a stick or bone caught between either the upper or lower teeth, a lesion in the mouth (abscessed or infected teeth.gums, tumors), systemic infections (feline herpes) and kideny disease.

An examination and possibly some diagnostic testing by a veterinarian is required to get the diagnosis and determine treatment.

Has your kitten been vaccinated for FVRCP, feline leukemia and rabies?
