I ha e a baby conure that I'm having to hand feed. It's got sits in eyes but infection is oozing out. What can I do?

Veterinarian's Assistant: I'll do all I can to help. There are all sorts of infections the bird can pick up. I'll have you talk to the Veterinarian who'll sort out what is wrong and help you decide what to do about it. What is the bird's name and age?

Red and about a month old

Veterinarian's Assistant: Is there anything else important you think the Veterinarian should know about Red?

When I first took him he had trouble with not being able to use bathroom . Got him over that. I thought he would die . He was malnourished but eating good now.

Hi there, I'm Dr G and i work a lot with birds. I have been a vet for 18 years. I will help you out today with Red.

Can you give me some more info on your bird's eye? Is it just one eye or both?

Is there green or white discharge in the eyes? Are the eyes open at all? How old is the bird?

What Customers are Saying:

Thank you so much!!! I love this service. It has given me peace of mind and extremely valuable information at an affordable price 24/7 to care for my beloved pets. THANK YOU

LindaCenterreach, NY

I found my experience with you to be very positive. Not only did the vet answer my question thoroughly, he left me with a better knowledge to follow up with my vet.

I must tell you I found this site by accident and was amazed when I asked a question of the Veteranians online. I wish I could have found it sooner it could have made such a difference in the outcome of my pet's surgery. However, I am passing along the information to my sister-in-law (a cat-rescue person who is also a nurse), and perhaps it will help someone else who may experience the same problem. The doctor who answered my question was amazing, and while it didn't come it time to change the outcome of my situation, it is reassuring to know the caliber of Vets/Doctors that you have at JustAnswer. Thank you for being there.

Alice H.Jacksonville, Fl.
