Customer Question
My 2 yr old...

My 2 yr old granddaughter had high fever ~ 101 or so, last couple days - no infection, STREPs or such. A pediatrician said viral because her throat was hoarse and nose stuffy and runny. Q: Today she is fine, but her body temp is about 95.2F - rectal. Should I take her again to the pediatrician?

Doctor's Assistant: How severe is this?

Not particularly now. She is behaving fine - my concern is about her below normal body temp. Should I wait for a couple hrs - she is at school - and see physical activity may heat her up a bit and restore body temp?

Doctor's Assistant: Anything else in the child's medical history you think the doctor should know?

Nothing remarkable except immediately after birth her body temperature was similarly low, took a few days to get back to normal.

Nothing to worry . You can wait and let her play around, she will be fine . Bit of sun may help. Hot water bottle can come in handy if she is still having low temp. Nothing of much concern as long as its above 95.F.

I hope it answered your query.
