My daughter is complaining her finger hurts, it's a little swollen, tender to touch, and there is like a green part on the side of her nail. This has been a few days.

She is having an infection in the nail fold.
It can be paronychia.
I would recommend to show it to doctor.
Oral antibiotic can be needed.
In the meantime she can apply warm, moist compress.
Motrin can be taken for pain.
She can apply a local antibiotic cream like neosporin.
