My 11 month old baby had a fall from the bed. My worst

Customer Question

Hello. My 11 month old baby had a fall from the bed. My worst nightmare! Clearly I know better but I let her come in with me for breastfeeding and just stay asleep.
JA: Have you seen a doctor about this yet? What medications are you taking?
Customer: She is acting normal. I had her wake up and she played and just now fell back asleep.
JA: Anything else in your medical history you think the doctor should know?
Customer: Everything I am reading saying to just monitor. I don't want to wake up my ped for no reason but I'd like reassurance from a dr. no she is a healthy baby.

She is asleep now. She cried and was consolable. I had her wake up to be sure everthing was ok. We played and she acted normal.

I have been watching the bruise and her breathing for a couple hours. All looks
ok. But the bruise is nasty. There is no goose egg - it is a flat bruise. Did you see the picture?

Thank you for the input.
As there is no other symptom besides bruise, you can observe.

You can let her sleep.

You need to observe a few symptoms, as you are probably aware.

Nausea or vomiting, confused appearance, seizure, weakness of a limb are some of the symptoms, need to be looked for.

Any fluid discharge from nose or ear should be checked.

If she develops any such symptom, she needs to be seen in ER.

Otherwise, you can get her checked by doctor in the morning.
If she wakes up, you can apply ice to the area, ice should not be applied directly.

Pl apply after wrapping it in a towel.

I hope this information will be helpful.
