Hello, I had blood tests done for my 3 month old baby girl , the results are as follows : auto wbc 11.7, rbc 4.09 , hemoglobin 11.5 , hematocrit 34.3,mcv 83.9, mch 28.1, mchc 33.5, rdw 13.2, platelets 325 , mpv 10.0, neutrophils relative 13.2, immature granulocytes relative .3, lymphocytes relative 74.2, monocytes relative 6.9, eosinophils relative 5.1, basophils relative .3,neutrophils relative 1.6 (L), immature granulocytes absolute 0.0, lymphocytes absolute 8.7 (H), monocytes absolute .8, eosinophils absolute .6(H), basophils absolute 0.0,
What concerns me is the morphology results , it says anisocytosis 1+ (A), burr cells 1+(A), polychromasia 1+(A) , I was wondering whether the morphology results are normal and an explanation for what the 1+ means. Also my baby has had blood in her stool but the gastroenterologist told me this was likely due to a milk allergy and told me to exclude milk from my diet , please give me some insight on these results as I am worried

Hi, sorry about her illness. As hemoglobin is normal, anisocytosis etc have no significance & merely describe varied sizes & morphology of red cells. High eosino Wbc may indicate allergy so replace milk to soya based one and see. Good luck to her.

That is if she is given top feeds, else you replace your milk to yogurt.
