My 4 yr old granddaughter broke out in a rash on her face. Benadryl and cortisone were administered and the redness has subsided. This has happened yesterday and today. What could this be?

I am sorry for her symptoms.

Does she have any other symp***** *****ke fever?

Did she have any test?

Expert:  Dr. Su S. replied 1 year ago.

I was waiting for your reply.
The symptoms sound like an allergy.
Cause is often difficult to find.
Response to allergen varies from person to person.
Other probable is an infection.
Viral infection can cause rash.
But response to benadryl & cortisone suggests an allergy.

If the symptoms recur, she can have blood work, allergy tests.
I hope this information will be helpful.
