Pediatrician: Dr. Su S., Pediatrician replied 2 years ago

Thank you for the input.

When he does not feel any discomfort, I feel it has passed the throat to the stomach.

However, he needs an examination by doctor.

Doctor can take an X ray to confirm the location of coin.

Sometimes, it can get lodged in esophagus without symptom.

Usually the coin passes out along with stool by 2-3 days but it may take longer.

You have to check his stool regularly to find out it.

I hope this information will be helpful.

If you have any query, please feel free to ask.

If you are happy with my answer please click on the Excellent/Good rating.

Wish his healthy life.

Regards.

Thank you to the Physician who answered my question today. The answer was far more informative than what I got from the Physicians I saw in person for my problem.

You have been more help than you know. I seriously don't know what my sisters situation would be today if you had not gone above and beyond just answering my questions.
