Customer Question

My 2 1/2 year old girl has RSV. She became ill Tuesday. At first they didn't test for RSV. They said it was URI and prescribed Zithromax. She has had 102-103 temp since Tuesday. Took her to ER bc she has not eaten since Monday and wasn't drinking a lot either. They did an RSV test and she was positive. They discharged her from ER, no breathing treatments. Should she be admitted? Her 02 sats room air were 100%.

Sorry about this illness. No respiratory support may be required but indoor treatment may be advisable. No curative treatment is advised except in some high-risk babies, where drug called palivisumab is used.

Most babies become alright with supportive care for fast breathing, cough, fever, dehydration etc.
