I'm 26 weeks pregnant, about maybe a month and a half ago,

Customer Question

Hi Doctor I'm 26 weeks pregnant, about maybe a month and a half ago, My left eye started seeing patchiness of like fog or cloudy, went to the eye specialist and they did not see anything. He said it could be something to do with my pregnancy hormones. Even if I wear glasses it's still there. i think it is getting worst now. Is it really something to do with my pregnancy and if so, will it go away after giving birth?

Thank you for your question.
I am Dr. Su S. and I will try my best to help you.

In pregnancy there can be minor changes in vision from hormonal effects.

These hormones can cause fluid retention & may change the contour of cornea.

It will pass away after pregnancy.

However, as you are feeling worst even with glasses, I would advise to have a review by ophthalmologist.

He can recheck, change the glasses.

I hope this information will be helpful.
