Did she have any other test besides thyroid?
Does she have any other symptom?

Thank you for the input & picture.Weight gain can occur from a few causes. In low thyroid state there can be weight gain. But her tests were normal.Other causes of weight gain are cushing's disease, overeating, polycystic ovary.Anxiety, depression can also cause weight gain.Low dose pill may not be the cause.If no apparent cause is detected, then she needs to control calorie intake.Usually a calorie intake of 1200 - 1500 is advised when one plans to lose weight with an aim not to lose weight suddenly but gradually & to maintain it.A dietitian can be involved in planning diet.Frequency of exercise/ walk can be increased to 5 times a week.I hope this information will be helpful.If you have any query, please feel free to ask.If you are happy with my answer please click on the Excellent/Good rating. Polycystic ovary is a condition where there are multiple cysts in the ovary.
Cysts are fluid filled cavities.
There can be hormonal imbalance in this condition.
