Greetings,

Thank you for your question.

I am Dr. Su S. and I will try my best to help you.

Since when is he having diarrhea?

How many times does he pass stool in a day?

Does he have fever, abdominal pain or any other symptom?

Expert:  Dr. Su S. replied 2 years ago.

He is probably having gastroenteritis or infection of gi tract. In most cases it is viral. Sometimes bacterial & other infections can be there. Those can cause blood to pass & pain in rectum. I would advise to get an examination by doctor. Stool testing, antibiotics can be needed. Please try to give plenty of fluid & electrolytes like oral rehydration fluid, gatorade starting in small frequent sips . Rice, banana, toast will be helpful. Urine output should be watched too. If it decreases it can suggest dehydration.
