Can I give my 18 month old benadryl for allergies (runny

Resolved Question:

Can I give my 18 month old benadryl for allergies (runny nose, watery itchy eyes and sneezing) after he's already received a 1 tsp dose of cetirizine (zyrtec) approx 5 hours ago? If so how much? He's just over 20lbs.

Dr. Yogindra Vasavada :

Hello, Though not indicated below 2 years as per package instruction, you could safely give him upto half a teaspoonful for his allergy. Zyrtec can be given once, while benadryl can be dosed two to three times daily.
