my 8 year old has recently developed a lump on her left chest/breast.

Resolved Question:

my 8 year old has recently developed a lump on her left chest/breast. Is this cause for concern? Is it normal in a growing 8 year old girl? Is there anything we can do?

Sorry for the problem of your daughter. Swollen nipple can be due to premature enlargement of breast etc. Enlargement of breast or thelarche can occur due to hormonal change. Puberty can appear as early as 7-8 years of age. It is a sign of puberty. Better to avoid much handling of the area. Lump on the breast can be due to cyst, folliculitis too. If there develops any redness, or severe tenderness, she should be checked. After examining if her doctor feels, he may do some relevant investigations to check the situation.

Hope this information will help you.
Wish your daughter's healthy life.
