Hi. Welcome. I am a Licensed Master Social Worker with more than 20 years experience working with individuals and families. I am also a mom of Twins.

I am wondering what the push is to send her away to boarding school? Is she displaying behaviors that are making it difficult to be at home?

My inclination is that 8 years old is a bit young to be away at boarding school and still could benefit from the love and care of her parents at home. Adolescence is usually the time kids go away to school if they go away at all. That age typically is around 14 when they have developed the skills to be a bit more independent and able to manage things and the emotions of being away.

Give me a few more details about why you are thinking of this now for her?
