Our eight-year-old nephew is visiting us over the next two

This answer was rated:

Our eight-year-old nephew is visiting us over the next two weeks, and he enjoys beating his chest like Tarzan. He does it very hard, and our twins, who are two and a half, are having fun imitating him. Our concern is it seems to be becoming some type of a game who can beat their chest the hardest. We are wondering if we are just over cautious about this issue. Should we put a stop to it now, or let kids be kids?

They are unlikely to hit themselves hard enough to cause any harm to themselves. As long as they are not hitting each other I would let it pass.
