Good afternoon, this is Howard,

I'm sorry to hear about this problem. Has your son ever done anything like this before? Does he exhibit any other behavior problems? How is he doing in school? What are the police going to do about this?

How did he explain his actions, and what have you told him so far?
Customer: replied 5 years ago.
He has said. Sorry and is in his room at this time
He Was with. His school friend and I notice when he has company
He just does not know what to do first or next
He gets real hyper and I think he wanted to show off
He has a basket ball court tennis court
Swim pool. Golf cart rides
Lives in a 7000 sqft mansion
So I think he gets a lot of what other kids just wish for
Very sweet child
Never mean or rude
Everybody loves him and love him to be around
Please tell me what a good punishment would be

Thank you for the additional information. I do not recommend any kind of physical violence against your son, and that would include spanking.

Based on what you have reported, it appears that breaking into the neighbor's house was out of character for your son. As you said, he may have been influenced by his school friend in that he wanted to show off.

I do not think you should go to any extreme regarding your reaction to your son's behavior. I recommend depriving him of an enjoyable activity for a period of about a week. Also, please be sure to tell him that you are very disappointed that he broke into the neighbor's house. Ask him to promise you that he will never do anything like that again. I think this should be sufficient to get the message through to him.
