Does it send a bad message for parents to claim to be Christians

This answer was rated:

Does it send a bad message for parents to claim to be Christians to their children and the public, yet when people show them (the parents) Bible Scriptures to show them they are wrong in some aspects, they (the parents) don't want to hear it and don't change their ways? Additionally, if their children want to preach The Gospel and God's Word to their schoolmates and others and the parents order the children not to preach The Gospel and God's Word, and when the children ask them but what about everything you have taught us to be Christians?, the parents argue a weak argument to weasel out of the question?
If parents profess to be practicing Christians, they should not be offended when someone tries to show them how to live their life according to the word of God. They should want to change their ways and live according to the word of God. The parents should not be against hearing the truth of the Bible.

Children must be obedient to their parents wishes. But it is a great action that the children want to spread the words of he gospel. If the parents do not want their children to spread the word, they should obey but ask the Lord to soften the parent's hearts and allow them one day spread the word.
