Resolved Question:

We just found out that our nine year old son touched and was touched by another boy at a sleepover.
he doesn't know why he did such a thing.
He talks about just fooling around
Just curious
He indicated that some of his friends talk about things that they have seen in movies and he wonders about why people do these things
what should we do
We spoke to him about being curious which is normal but acting on this is inappropriate and he can't do that
We have always talked to him about not touching or let people touch his private parts
We don't let him watch inappropriate movies or shows

Hello and Thank You for using Just Answer. First of all relax and take a deep breath. Unfortunately, children will be exposed to many things from their friends. One rule that you can teach your children is that any place on your body that a bathing suit covers, should not be touched by another person.

What you need to do is to discuss the incident with the parents of the other child, not out of anger but just out of concern. Personally, I would not allow my child to sleep over again at that child's house.

What happened to your son is perfectly normal and happened out of curiosity. Just keep your eyes and ears open regarding what your son talks about with his friends.
