The school usually has a handbook which states the discipline policy that every parent receives at the beginning of the school year. Review the section on bringing a weapon to school. Many schools have a "No Tolerance" policy when it comes to weapons. The school may make an exception for your son but it will be a tough case to fight if the school's weapon policy has been violated. There really is not much you can do but wait it out and see what the school does.
