Customer Question

I have an 18 month old son who continuously hits me and throws objects at me. He mostly does this when he is frustrated and/or tired. How can I get him to stop? I say firmly "Do not hit/Do not throw" and try to redirect him to a more appropriate response/activity, but the behavior is only getting worse.

Give him a timeout after you tell him not to hit in a firm voice. Put him in a corner facing the wall for 1 minute. Keep redirecting him to do the timeout appropriately until he does it. Continue with this technique and you should see some success.
