I am a parent, but I also have to deal everyday with helping people to establish Identity.

If you know the hospital where she was born, you could call there, and you might beable to find out the birthdate. However, the privacy concerns that people have these days, may prevent the hosptial staff from releasing that information to anyone other than a relative or the parents.

Failing the hospital route, then there is the local newspaper office.

In most places, there is an announcement for the birth. Check the news papers of the city (if you know it). Since it was 2005, you might be able to query the online archives. YOu can call the editor of reporter of that part of the newspaper to find out if they can look it up.

The last resort, and you will have to pay for it, is the vital statistics office.

Every vital statistics office, or registrar of births and deaths, requires probalble cause to get that kind of information, and a small filing fee. Probalbe cause means that it needs to be a relative or parent seeking the Birth Certificate.
