Customer Question

Attached are the findings of an MRI I had last week. Could you put them into layman terms? My appointment with my doctor isn't until the 22nd. I had a bike accident on 8/14 and have been having quite a bit of pain in my left shoulder ever since even though there wasn't any indication that I landed on that side. All the damage was on the right side as was the helmet crack.I can raise the arm front ways top to bottom but not sideways top to bottom, like a jumping jack without significant pain. I can lift just fine but pushing is troublesome.

Hello and welcome. I'm Dr Chip

The report says the following

There's some bursitis--inflammation of the bursal sac surrounding the joint.

The subscapularis is one of the rotator cuff muscles and there may be a partial tear of its tendon

There's some amount of arthritis in the joint.

I see nothing surgical here and I would now refer you to physical therapy to help with this.

Please let me know if you need any more information Douglas.

You know it seems as if there are glitches in the JA website rating portion. A couple months ago the stars wouldn't light up and then later a five star rating would show up without me doing anything. Also in my inbox,if I hadn't rated an answer yet I would get an e-mail and the subject line would read please rate your...... Not this time. Crazy
