I am an Orthopaedic surgeon and I would be happy to help you today.

Please ask your question and include details about your age and gender as well?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.

I am a 38 year old male. I search weakness and clumsyness in leg and all kinds of bad things came up like MS, etc. I have a weird feeling in my left leg close to my knee cap. Almost like a clumsy feeling. Like its going to give out etc.

Thanks for replying.

Have you had any injury to the knee?

Any pain or swelling around the knee?

Since how long have you been having these symptoms?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.

About two weeks. I do have a diffuse disc bulge at L5/S1

Thanks for replying.

Isolated clumsiness around the knee is unlikely to be due to anything like MS or other neurological disorder.

A disc bulge at L5 S1 can cause some weakness at the knee especially if the bulge is compressing the cord centrally.

You need to follow this line of Investigation. An EMG study would help delineate and confirm the cause of clumsiness or weakness at knee joint.

Feel free to ask any follow up questions.

I am sorry.

I somehow missed your reply and did not answer.

Most such symptoms dueto a disc bulge improve by themselves. This may take up to 12 weeks. You need to avoid any activity which induces pain.

You may also feel better with a medicine like Pregabalin which your doctor can prescribe.
