Hello -

I am going to speculate and say that your doctor got the skeletal survey results, and it noted a "lesion" on the bone in the leg, and a PET scan was suggested.

This scan will allow the doctors to see if areas "light up" in the skeleton -- to see if there is the possibility of plasmacytoma, or multiple myeloma.

Of course, don't jump to any conclusions yet, as you haven't even had the PET scan done, and you don't know the results of the skeletal xrays either. I would call the office tomorrow and get those skeletal xray results.

Best of luck.

would my blood work not indicate WBC<CBC) a cancer
Customer reply replied 3 months ago
Every step of the way I am being told not to jump to conclusions... then the conclusions lead to something else. Can anyone tell me what my blood work would look like if I had mm
Oncologist: Dr. Mark, Doctor (MD) replied 3 months ago

Some people have anemia (low red blood cell) but the WBC can be normal in multiple myeloma.

(The WBC can be extremely elevated in something like leukemia, a different blood disorder)
