Oncologist: Dr. David, Doctor (MD) replied 6 months ago

how old are you?

you had a biopsy which showed no cancer.

you don't have to have the lymph node cut out.

I have been informed fna biopsies dont show up lymphnoma and lymph nodes bigger then 1-2 cm are a issue and mine are all over 3cm
Customer reply replied 6 months ago
I have been having night sweats on and offf for the same amount of time since first tests
Customer reply replied 6 months ago
I am 35
Customer reply replied 6 months ago
Can you explain why the say there normal when they are above "normal size" on ultrasounds both times
Oncologist: Dr. David, Doctor (MD) replied 6 months ago

that is not true

biopsy do show up lymphoma.

I am a cancer doctor. the biopsies show normal

enlarged lymph nodes can be from irritation if you are rubbing them or feeling them constatnly

or if they are reactive lymph nodes swelled up to help fight off infection.

They have gotten bigger in the 3 months since first tests have been done doesnt that warrant further investigation? How are sizes looked at?
Oncologist: Dr. David, Doctor (MD) replied 6 months ago

do you rub and feel the lymph node often? this can cause it to swell up in 3 months.

sizes are looked at by ultrasound and given in 3 dimensions.

I am a cancer doctor who treats patients who have lymphoma.

biopsy of the lymph node is the way we diagnose lymphomas.

you don't have lymphoma

Why when size is what the look at would they not be worried that they have grow does l/s ratio actually have any bearing in diagnosing lymphoma. Can hormones or stresss cause any of this?
Oncologist: Dr. David, Doctor (MD) replied 6 months ago

a few mm growth in one or two dimensions usually is not a worry.

stress can make you worried about lymph nodes containing lymphoma, even after you have had a biopsy which showed no lymphoma.

Ask Your Own Oncology Question
Customer reply replied 6 months ago
The 2 in question are on either side of groin they feel long hard and skinny like a ligament under the skin
Customer reply replied 6 months ago
Can stress or hormones make them be there?
Oncologist: Dr. David, Doctor (MD) replied 6 months ago

no. lymph nodes are naturally there if you have stress or hormones or not

everyone has lymph nodes in the groin area

Does long axis / short axis have any medical evidence in regards ***** *****
Oncologist: Dr. David, Doctor (MD) replied 6 months ago

no.

Ask Your Own Oncology Question
Customer reply replied 6 months ago
Would hormones or stresz cause them to react
Customer reply replied 6 months ago
being long ans skinny nodes can to rule out lymphoma then compared yo lymph nodes the are mych the same in regards ***** ***** axis
Oncologist: Dr. David, Doctor (MD) replied 6 months ago

stress can cause you to touch and feel and rub the nodes which can cause them to swell up.

your biopsy of the nodes showing no lymphoma rules out lymphoma

Ask Your Own Oncology Question
Customer reply replied 6 months ago
There are lots of reports stating fna biopsys dont not always show lymphoma by size along they are concerning
Customer reply replied 6 months ago
Over 1-2cm is considered not normal why should i not need further tests
Oncologist: Dr. David, Doctor (MD) replied 6 months ago

I am a cancer doctor.

I treat patients who have lymphoma.

I know what normal and not normal is.

your lymph nodes are normal.

get your lymph nodes cut out.

I bet they will not show lymphoma.
