Customer Question

I just received results from a thyroid ultra sound, the results
say I have one nodule in each side of thyroid
On left side, there is a 1.1 cm mildly hyperechoic, poorly defined slightly irregular solid nodular lesion measuring 1.1 cm, and that it is partly hypoechoic and partly hyperechoic.
What does it mean when a nodule is both hypoechoic and hyper echoic???

Thank you for your question.

Hyperechoic usually means it is solid.

Hypoechoic usually means it has fluid in it.
