I have an enlarged left posterior cervical lymph node. None

Customer Question

I have an enlarged left posterior cervical lymph node. None of my other lymph nodes are swollen. I have not had an infection or sickness recently. Should I be concerned?

This is Dr. David

your lymph nodes are part of your immune system and can swell up to help keep you healthy

they work behind the scenes to filter lymphatic fluid to keep you healthy.

your lymph nodes working are part of the reason why you don't have a current infection or sickness.

just because you feel a lymph node does not mean it contains cancer or is dangerous to you.

most enlarged lymph nodes are reactive lymph nodes and calm back down in a few weeks if you leave it alone

let me know if you have questions.
